Hi, My name is Oreo. I am just like the cookie; soft and sweet on the inside.
The nice folks at Berkeley Humane found me at the Oakland Animal
Shelter and decided to take a chance on me! I think they kind of felt sorry for me because they
read that my owner was sick with Cancer and had to give me up. I came to Berkeley Humane
way back in June and boy, am I ready to go to a forever home. I am a very pretty labrador/border
collie mix. I have lovely markings and have a beautiful, glossy black coat. I weigh around 50
pounds. I just LOVE to work. I am sure that if you teach me, I could even do your taxes or
balance your checkbook! I have an entire repertoire of training just waiting to impress you. I know "sit",
"down", "stay", "leave it" "come" and here's the really good news - I am housebroken AND crate
trained! What more could you ask for? Well, there is slight character flaw - I MAY not be able
to live with cats. We are not sure. I am not aggressive toward cats, I basically just want to PLAY.
If you are a very experienced dog person, you can probably train me not to chase the cats. I LOVE
my friends, though. I have made so many doggie friends here at the Shelter that I just can't keep track
of them all. I really like people, too. I could live with some older kids, but I might be a bit too
enthusiastic for small children. I would love to have a nice person or family to cuddle up with
for the Holidays. If you are an active person or family who loves to get out and about and
wouldn't mind taking me to training classes so we can "bond" - I just may be the perfect girl for you.
